This course introduces the fundamentals of statics and strength of materials and the principals of structure. It also provides a theoretical and scientific basis for understanding how various structural systems and structural materials work and withstand loading through qualitative and quantitative analytical methods.
01: THE SCIENCE OF STRUCTURES
The following sketchbook documentation investigates the mechanical behavior and load-bearing properties of structures based on the scientific principles of statics and understanding the basics of how to make an object remain static.
02: THE TECHNOLOGY OF STRUCTURES
The following set of tutorial documentation investigates the mechanical behavior of structure through technological aspects tied to the actual strength of materials, which deals with the 'making' processes of how things are manufactured and how they are assembled into structural systems.
